E2E ‘Fulfilling your Potential’
The Entry to Employment Programme (e2e) is delivered here at Oakwell in partnership with Barnsley College.
Football clubs nationally are now delivering e2e, a learner led programme which aims to engage young people who are not currently accessing education, employment or training in a learning programme within the alternative learning environment of a professional football club. Following completion of the programme learners are better placed to progress into employment, further training or college courses.
Head of Skills for Life and Work at Barnsley College, Mark Doyle said, “I would like to thank the Football Club for their commitment to supporting young people in Barnsley. This was a brand new initiative that has worked extremely well and has helped a significant number of young people gain qualifications and valuable experiences.”
Wayne Bullimore, Chief Executive of the Trust said, “The programme has been a real success and will go from strength to strength for the benefit of local young people. This has demonstrated partnership working at its best and Barnsley College should be congratulated for their creative approach to learning. ”The College is now working closely with the students to help them progress onto further study.
Further Programmes are planned with students having the opportunity to study here at Oakwell, Barnsley College and participate in residential excursions. Further details can be obtained from Rachael Lakey at Barnsley College on 01226 216 537. |
